President's Message

It is my great pleasure to present the Cel-Gen 2026 Congress, organized by ABTCelGen, now established as Brazil’s leading national forum dedicated to cell and gene therapies and gene editing technologies—a field that is profoundly transforming modern medicine. We are witnessing a unique moment, marked by the rapid advancement of advanced therapies, ushering in a new therapeutic era. Diseases once considered incurable or difficult to treat are now being addressed with innovative strategies, with the potential to generate lasting impact on patients’ quality of life and on medical practice.

In this context of significant transformation and global collaboration, I am also pleased to announce that Cel-Gen 2026 will take place in Rio de Janeiro, a vibrant and inspiring setting that fosters scientific exchange and the development of new partnerships. In this context, Cel-Gen 2026 will bring together researchers, physicians, regulators, industry representatives, startups, investors, and opinion leaders to discuss the key challenges and opportunities related to the development, manufacturing, regulation, and clinical application of these therapies. The event aims to promote an integrated perspective, connecting science, innovation, regulation, and access.

One of the key highlights of this edition will be the participation of several National Institutes of Science and Technology (INCTs) and Thematic Centers dedicated to different aspects of advanced therapies. This collaboration reinforces the congress’s role as a true national forum, capable of integrating expertise, sharing experiences, and aligning strategies to strengthen the sector in Brazil. By fostering dialogue among academia, industry, healthcare services, regulatory agencies, and the broader innovation ecosystem, the congress creates an environment conducive to innovation, technology transfer, and the establishment of strategic partnerships.

Our goal is to contribute concretely to the development of a robust and sustainable ecosystem, capable of expanding access to these transformative therapies for the Brazilian population.
